Patents Ordinance compelling the registration

in Hong Kong of English evocations, and that

the Ordinance does not specifically enact that

an English revocation operates simultaneously

as a revocation of the Hong Kong Patent, in-

dependently of the registration in Hong Kong

of the revocation in England. Consequently

there is some doubt whether an English revoca-

tion takes effect forthwith in Hong Kong under

section 5 or whether that effect is deferred

registration.

Hong Kong under section 7 (1) of the Ordinance.

I consider therefore that the Ordinance

should be so amended as to lay down clearly

the consequences of revocation in England of

a patent also registered in Hong Kong, and the

procedure to be adopted with regard to the

registration of such revocations.
